Was down Burbage north t'other night, and fuck me was remergence block in such a state. Bloody tick marks all over the footholds of submergence, remergence, blind date, blind fig had its crap pebbles over lip circled and generally looked fucking awful. west side story was pretty lined up as well :roll:

In font last week, some of the tick marks were outragous! After i had done problems with long lines on them, i got me brush and scrubbed them off.

spent about 20 mins cleaning WSS on monday morning - good 3mm thick chalk cake on the starting holds and foot long stripes on anything resembling a foothold...  maybe the offenders have been beating off so much they really can't see them?

funny how everyone perpetuates the myth that somehow font climbers are magical chalk-hating tecnhical genuises, when in fact they're glued to the footholds and are not shy about doing inch-thick donkey-lines.

I spent half the day at Kyloe In brushing off tick marks a couple of weeks ago, and got more pumped doing that than climbing. It makes me mad, and I don't see any difference between leaving tick marks and scrawling graffiti over the rock.

at stanage this PM there was loads of tickmarks on footholds on brad pit, even on footholds you don't use unless you're doing the myres way, and even that B5 over left of it had a foot long donkey line indicating where the top was - i mean for fuck sake, you look up and theres sky, and then it stops and theres rock - what needs tickmarking? fucking blind muthafuckers.

On a more serious note though, it is pretty out of order. I ain't got cataracts so why everything needs to be ticked in the first place, its almost like an indoor boulder problem once they've finished.

I'm just waiting for the different colours of chalk to turn up for walls with eliminates on.
