Saw a pair in V12 shop yesterday. They look pretty decent, like a velcro pimped out Talon.

I got some of these as a replacement for my Solutions. So far, they feel too stiff and numb, but that could be because they have about 4.5mm of rubber on them. Toe power seems good, and the heel's ok,but nowhere near as good as they look,IMHO. Not a patch on Solutions, that's for sure.

...but the bright orange colour forces you to crush because yo don't want to look like an idiot by putting them on and then falling off something in them...

Tried a pair for the first time today.

First impression was that the fit was awesome. Out of all the down turned shoes I've tried (dragon, sol'n, instinct, team) the fit out the box was definitely the best.

I'd say they're most similar to the scarpa insinct - they have a large toe box and that bump that helps bunch up your toes.

I agree that they felt really clumpy. Felt like I was kicking the wall a lot with them on but maybe they'll soften up? They have a lot of rubber on them, especially on the heel.

Good toe power, overall i'm impressed.

I've not tried them on myself but have spoken to people that have. Like has been mentioned, it seems they've tried to attain the toe down power by stiffening the shoe which means it's got no sensitivity.

It seems the only inovation is the toe bump thing but other than that, a stiff shoe for overhanging terrain can only be a bad thing in my opinion.

That was a feature in the Boreal stingers a long time ago?

Do any of their current shoes use the feature? I thought it was a good idea when I read about it but also thought that it'd probably be quite expensive (from a production perspective) to do..

Sorry, I haven't a clue. Regardless of a toe bump, they'll still have Boreal rubber!

after 3 months i got a 2 cm hole/tear in the rubber to the side of my big toe, and the rubber all around that area is really soft. ( i was working a project where this was getting a fair bit of action in a little granite pocket, but, still 2-3months and the rubber was done.rubbish). plus the aggressive downturn completely disappeared. they're flat now, and they were a perfect tight fit for my little hobbit feet and toes. now they are like wearing a big rubber brick. (on the plus the heel is super sturdy)

spend your money on something else
