Motor bikes on Eastern Moors or Blackamoor
April 14, 2011, 08:58:30 am
Further to posts by Stom and Fat Doc, there are growing numbers of MXers riding on both the Eastern Moors, (particularly Sheepskulls on Totley Moor) and Blackamoor.  In order to gauge the scale of the problem, if you come across this kind of activity, drop me a pm with details and I'll keep Danny Udall of the Eastern Moors partnership up to speed on what's happening and when.

My Mother lives near Blackamoor and tells me she's seen alot of MXers activity recently there.

She tried to phone the police but they weren't interested.

I went for a run up there a few weeks back and although I didn't actually see anything they could certainly be heard.

Yeah, with you guys on this.  I alerted the Sheffield Wildlife Trust when I saw lots of tracks during the winter, but they've not really addressed the problem yet.  It's a tough one to police as there are so many entry points I guess.  The only copper who seems to take an interest is our old friend Tim Cross.  Call him if you have good info on 0114 220 2020.  There's a meeting about the Eastern Moors, which includes Totley Moor, on Saturday, so I'll speak to Danny then.

In the end though, we'll only see the back of these tossers if we can get the police up there, (so keep badgering them), or if we can get number plates.

More fun and games on sunday.  Guy on a quad bike in the middle of Totley Moor claiming that because he was too ignorant to find out which trails he could legally ride, it was obviously the authorities fault for not putting up better signs.   :wank:  Also a Honda CR without number plates raising a mighty dust cloud on Moss Road - probably on his way to Sheepskulls.

Unfortunately, Tim Cross, (mentioned above) has moved on to pastures new.  Sounded disappointed to me, think he really did give a shit about the Moors.  However, still best to call 0114 2202020 if you spot MXers or quads on the moors.  Basically, if we make a fucking nuisance of ourselves, the police will finally have to do something about it.  :jab:

Was it a white bike with green and blue trim without plates?  If so the same twat was trying to get past me as i drove up Hillfoot road sunday evening.  Riding really aggressively about 2 foot form my bumper and pulling wheelies...I ended up driving really slowly and in the middle of the road so he couldn't get past... though about slamming my brakes on so he'd rear end me but I figured he'd not be insured and i'd end up with the bill
