For the full thing where exactlly do you start the book says 8 metres right of the tree but chalk seems to start at the pebble about 5 metres right after this it is really dirty.  There is a big jug further right and a line of crimps coming from it so maybe here? Whats the accepted starting place?

I would have to see it again to say exactly where it started, but it starts at a higher level than the middle section, and drops down into it during the first section, if that helps at all? Both the start and finish needed a brush when I did it too.

My impression was that the V8 extension starting 8m right of the tree and the left extension didn't get anything like as much traffic as they deserved as they often seemed dirty on my occasional visits (I'm still working the middle bit).

The end extension is good and chalked all the way. Know a few people that have done it. The start extension still makes me wonder as either of the two starting places mentioned would involve a drop down move into the middle.
