New boulder area Sardinia - Codeleddu
March 28, 2011, 04:55:12 pm
Yesterday the new Codeleddu Sardinia bouldering area, at 700 m altitude and facing SW, was the scene of a bouldering competition. It's on the Codeleddu granite plateau in the Parco dei Sette Fratelli (Setti Fradis).  Giorgio Tagliasacchi, who discovered the area, and Valeria had organised a bouldering competition with Swiss precision, with  instructions for getting thereas well as a topo with 64 boulders from 4 to 7B each with "points" (from which you can work out the grade) for the competition.

Linguists do refer to an "Italo-Celtic" branch of the Indo-European languages, although Sardinian place names are the only resemblance that's ever been obvious to me as a non-linguist

Sard is a language directly descended from Latin, if you understand it many route names are clever plays on words. Here's a few Sard words
Cheese = formaggio IT = casu SARDO
House = casa IT = domu SARDO
Big = grande IT = mannu SARDO

Su Cunnu, despite its masculine gender, refers to the C-word in English. Su Cunnu e S'Ebba is a big hole a waterfall (water = S'Ebba or S'ABBA) gushes out of

ADIOS (bye in Sard) Peter
