Nether Regions
February 23, 2011, 11:10:36 am
Nearly 3 weeks ago now I was chatting mid warm up and turned to the other person a muttered "1 second I don't want to cool down", turned around and pulled onto the first move of a problem. Left foot was high (toe) and hands were at a similar height, leg fully extended. I pulled up, toed down hard and something went 'ping' in my inner leg.

I'm yet to see anyone about this mainly due to time but like everything I'm just hoping it'll go away. The thing is, I can't really find what triggers it. Initially I thought it was my hamstring but after considering it a bit more the adductor seemed a more likely culprit. It has improved slightly; last week I couldn't really toe down at all with my left leg and heels were out too, last night I could heel (tentatively) and in general it seemed a little less injured but a few things I did caused quite sharp pain:

Opening up my hips
and attempting to paste my foot on and push out of an undercut.

I guess I'm being a bit wary of this one as the pain is quite sharp and I can't replicate it during any stretches or exercises... So with the usual caveat of "I'd be better of asking somebody who's might know", can I ask for some input on what it might be and how best to aid its recovery?

Does it hurt if you sit on the floor putting the soles of you feet together, then pushing you knees towards the floor.

another trigger: Office chair, using ball of my foot to pull the chair into the desk... I haven't got a clue about legs.

(apologies for the abysmal spelling/grammar in the firs post)

Where is the pain - be as specific as you can? If pulling a chair into the desk makes it hurt, it could be hamstring. Try lying on the floor (on your back) with your foot on a chair (knee bent to 90degrees, toes pointing towards the ceiling). If you pull downwards with your heel, does it hurt?

Thanks sir - not sure if that helps Paul but you've inadvertently confirmed what I've done to myself after "popping" something the one time I've got the Demon Wall Roof heel to stick.

I've just been avoiding anything that even vaguely involves right heel pulling, assuming it's just a matter of time and taking it steady?

No, not at all.

To be as specific as possible, its right in my innner leg (so far as in to make it indecent to touch in public). Dead on the in-seam of my jeans.

Groin strain?

you'd think a groin stretch would agravate it if that was the issue

Last night doing routes was pretty depressing, I couldn't really rockover leftwards at all
