First the guy gets taken climbing at Stanage by Johnny Brown, then a day at the Roaches with Andi T. Whatever next? My money's on Pinches Wall with Dave and Andy B.

Onion rings for 6p is a story worthy of country file.

Roaches bit is first after the intros.

Didn't realise they were only looking at around £200k for it, cost £26k a year to run, thought it would be millions to buy! Maybe the BMC should pick it up, better than spending the money on some new kitchens for some CC huts!

 :agree:

I thought the asking price would have been in the millions. Shirley the BMC could have a whip round? I'd happily donate £100 if it meant the BMC owned the roaches. I'd defintiely donate my time to help with the running costs too.

While we're chatting about what the BMC should buy does anybody know how Eric is getting on with selling the barn in Tremadog? It would make a fine addition to the property roster rather than see it converted to an expensive barn conversion.

The BMC could afford to buy it, yes, but the don't have the expertise or resources to run an estate of that size. It won't go to the highest bidder anyway, the Peak Park have a thorough tender process (as with the Eastern Moors) which is already in motion. There are some promising bidders but with the Park looking to sell off so many assets in a fairly short period the best ones may have to choose carefully. Plus there is the problem that whoever takes it over is likely to have designs on the hut...

I suspect Boreal are showing an interest, especially after such subtle product placement ;D

I was surprised it came across in such a manner to say that the estate was up for sale. I had been led to believed the Peak Park were looking for partners to invest to help maintain the estate because of a 10% reduction in Government funding.

I think we should have a whip round!

Taking him up Matinee would have made for more entertaining TV!

I wonder what else is up for sale in this sort of way?

There's talk of a community buy out... could be an interesting idea.

A little bird showed some of us at a meeting a list of shit which is up for grabs. Made for a depressing read.
