January 27, 2004, 02:33:16 pm
Hey, im trying to find out information about starting up a climbing gym
in my quite remote part of the country. Im looking for information about
funding requirements, property development, local council help. Anything
or anyone who could help me out. Do you know who i should contact first to
put forward a proposal of my program etc.

Thank you for your time and any help/information you can give to me.

Where abouts are you thinking of?

Another gym/wall might be happy to give you info if you're never going to be in competition with them?

Private or public ownership and running? - the two are very different and are set-up in very different ways.  If the local council are receptive, you could explore a ppp option.

From having looked pretty seriously into this a few years back, it seems that the rapidly increasing costs of insurance are getting fairly prohibitive.
