Mini shoes for mini people
June 20, 2010, 08:49:38 pm
Right.. so.....

Took Jr T to the wall today, very much a monkey see monkey do situation
He managed to pull onto the wall unassisted and get both feet up but any further upwards movement was hindered by foot slippage (baby shoes tend to be big and clunky) - very proud Dad moment seeing him pull off the mat  ;D

So the question is at seventeen months of age and with size 2 feet how and where are we going to find shoes to fit.

A quick google showed smallest shoes to come in a size 10 but thought there might be pep's with better knowledge on here
 :please:

Will be taking him to Font in Feb and will put a little sidewall on the woodie for him to play on once the summer holidays come so any advice is much appreciated

I've never checked the sizes, but Decathlon have a wide range of junior rock boots (from memory) and they're cheap as chips too... (as Jnr will out grow them fast...)
Maybe more info on their website?

I just buy 2.50 plimsolls from Sainsbury's - the ones with the brown soft rubber soles. My little un seems to manage perfectly well.

Tesco beach shoes work well. Slip on and soft rubber, probably very similar to Undergrounds Sainsbury's offering.

We got some black plimsolls on ebay for exactly fuck all (eg. £2.50). Mini-Obi does have big feet for his age but hunt around and you should find some. Super sticky rubber, amazing for slabs.

Maybe he'll have to go a bit old school and learn the heritage - get a pair of bright red socks to go over the baby shoes, it was good enough for Brown and Whillans when they were in the same predicament  ;)

Thanks all

Having seen the size than mini climbing shoes come in it's going to have to be plymsolls for a few years

most climbing shoes start about size 10, Jr T is about 2.5 at the moment  :(

think he might have to wait a bit for real rock shoes.... unless anyone knows about really really mini shoes  :-\

BKB - that site is awesome btw...

Sizing kids climbing shoes is just as difficult as sizing adult full grown people's shoes - especially as they seem even less tolerant of pain than us big folks. Biggest child takes a 35 in trainers, but her 37 Scarpa Lightnings are tight (unbearably tight with socks, so I am told).

Worth trying on somewhere before ordering off 'tinterweb.

Worth trying on somewhere before ordering off 'tinterweb.

Little Trekkers are based in Penistone, not sure if they have a shop at all, or just a warehouse.

Got a great down suit for kyle for winter in their sale too

http://www.littletrekkers.co.uk/shop/index.php/flypage/6809/cd5dedcc770e8e057f5ee6b7a29daf73

and some gloves

Ready for winter walking and sledding!
