See topic title. On my right knee, on the right hand side of the front of my knee cap, I have a very small area that is very painful if I accidentally bang it or kneel on it. There is NO pain at all when I move it, exert it, wiggle the kneecap around, or dick around with it in any other way - it's ONLY direct pressure. When I carefully find the spot it feels like there's a fine...."cordlike" band running across it, and this is the sore bit.

Any ideas?? Obviously due to too much bumming, but since my legs have taken a beating in the last year, I'd rather keep what's left of them intact...

I had something similar, and it was only when I got it X-Rayed that I worked out why....

I hate you guys  :'(

P.S. No swelling, no stiffness, no nails embedded in it, and no problems using knees when climbing...

On a serious note, my right knee has something similar.  Occasionally when I kneel on it in a certain way I get a severe stabbing pain in the skin, like I've knelt on glass.  Not worked out why as yet, but it brings tears to the eyes.

No nails though.

I presume it's just a tiny neuroma or something.  The kids get to laugh at their old dad though.

Again, looking up neuroma, that sounds right to me, I was going to say "I think it's a nerve thing" but didn't want to jump the gun.

I don't have any kids to laugh at me. Will I survive?
