Cuisiniere parking
March 08, 2010, 12:04:52 am
.... is shut  :(. Anyone (neil) know if/when they'll open the road again? Suppose it'll be nice if the main area's get a bit quieter, but a shame if some of the hidden gems return to nature.

Think its been like this for ages now, so either park on the road or at isatis.

I think it's much nicer with the carpark shut.  The crag is very much quieter and an extra five minutes walk in the woods is always pleasant.

yes, no big deal to have a little extra walk from the Isatis area, and it makes it less a target for the car windows breaker...

I'd guess it's because of the state of the track, which was becoming a bit of a joke, but it'd be nice to know whether there was any plan to fix it or not - doesn't sound hopeful from dave's comment (though it was open last spring). I take people's point about it being nice and quiet at the main area (see initial post), and I have no problem with the walk, but it's a fairly well wooded area, and as I said there's a lot of good stuff that could easily disappear under the moss if not climbed regularly - and in font where theres so much so easily accessible, it's easy to be lazy - witness the problems at Saint-Germain that hardly ever gets done - we had to do a lot of moss and needle clearing last week.

Also it was the best spot to park up o/n. :(

Wonder if this was part of the reason. Last time we where there it was like a Polish travelling circus (not that I have problem with Poles, just where they were all from).

I'd heard they were sorting the road surface out, but you'd think that was a 2 week job not several months. But then when you factor in the mandatory french 5hour lunch break it starts to make sense.

They're probably in the process of doing it but are on strike at the moment in an attempt to increase the lunch break to 6 hours.

I'd think this would be rather fruitless as everyone would surely just move 300m down the road to Isatis, as we last did.

No, no, no. That would leave a 4 hour working week under the EU working time directive which is far too much for the French. [Gallic]

I think the strike is also about smoking in the workplace. I.e. They want it to be mandatory.

its closed for several reasons, one the track, second the amount of poepl camping down there, and also its one of the biggest areas for theft. It will never re open

I would advise people that if they want to climb there not to park at the top but go park in isatis car park. If you park at the top of the road the chances are you will get robbed

enjoy all

Seems to be a bit of feedback from COSIROC going on over on Bleau.info.
