Stonnis Premiere
June 08, 2015, 04:58:13 pm
I've made a film about Black Rocks. In case anyone missed it, here's the trailer:

It's an hour long, features a number of UKBers and some genuine waddage (amongst other categories of climbing performance- if you only like films that feature training montages and clips from indoor comps this might not be one for you) and carries the Cheque Pictures "No driving to the crag, making coffee in a campervan or slo-mo chalking-up" guarantee.

The date is Friday 19th June 7:30PM (I'll probably show the film around 9PM) at the Matlock Bath Grand Pavilion.

Entry is FREE, there is a bar and the Grand Pavilion is a venue that has to be seen to be believed.

Looks awesome Cheque! Will the whole thing be available after the 19th in some form?

Its my most talked about film before release for ages :) If I get too excited and drink too much on the night, please forgive me.

I'm over tired and initially read Cheque's post as FREE bar.   :icon_beerchug:
Never mind, it will still be brilliant.  Can't wait.

It's a mate's 40th that evening - any plans to release it online? For a token or two obviously.

Good to hear the Premiere went well.

Couldn't make it myself but the trailer looks great and I'm wondering if it will be available to purchase at any stage (e.g. through Vimeo)?

Or http://steepedge.com/

The impression I have is that films sold through SteepEdge tend to be more expensive than when producers self-publish on platforms such as Vimeo and what slim profits there are are shared between more.

A couple of crude examples...

Al Lees Stone Free is £10 for HD download from SteepEdge.  You can't buy it on its own from Al's Posing Productions site, but its part of his Brit Rock films which is £14.99 for HD download and includes two other films totalling 100minutes (of which Stone Free is ~30minutes).  Granted not everyone will be bothered about the other films in that bundle, but for an extra £5 and knowing all the profit goes to the producer I know which I'd prefer to purchase from.

Or you can buy Cedar Wrights Sufferfest 1&2 for $15 from his Vimeo page/account.  Sufferfest 1 is £5 from SteepEdge.

Don't get me wrong I've nothing against SteepEdge at all, since they have a good seleciton of films many of which aren't available anywhere else (particularly the older films) and they offer an excellent service (I've purchased from there before), but for me, as with purchasing music, if I can buy direct I would prefer to as I know the person/people who created the film(/music) receive greater remuneration.

 Reading that post back I realise that the wording was a bit misleading. It should have said "Today I have had confimation that this will be on BMCTV".

They have the file- on Friday I was told that the technical guy was on holiday for a week and that it would be going up once he got back.
