New Year's Resolutions?
January 02, 2004, 12:01:14 pm
Do you bother? I don't really, but if I had to have some...

  • Lose more weight and train more specifically for climbing.
  • Get my Ju-Jitsu up to a standard where it would actually be useful, and not just theoretical, and get my first few Muay Thai gradings done.
  • Try to find a way of earning a living outside of the tedious bullshit that is the IT industry. I've been doing it 15 years and it's doing my swede in.
  • Get to Oz to see my brother and my sister in law.
  • Become a better person

#2 New Year's Resolutions?
January 02, 2004, 09:57:40 pm
1. Lose some weight (nudging a whopping 14 stone at the mo, whilst 13 and a 1/4 is my fighting weight)
2. Drink less
3. Work less
4. Become an active climber again, instead of a pasty computer bound guidebook scribe.
5. Start going to gigs again (I say this every year)
6. Start reading books again (anybody got any good recommendations?).
7. Finally achieve a respectable/usable standard of Welsh - my daughter is catching me up, and she's only 2 and a 1/2. (I've been learning off and on for about 4 years and I'm still shite!)
8. Burn Mark Katz off - at least once! (Could be tricky this one.)

Panton- if you want a good book I can highly recommend Hemingway 'The first fourty-nine stories'- it's a collection of all of his published short stories, I can't think who it's published by (it's back in the flat) you could borrow it if you want and we could get some kind of North Wales book club going on!

It must be said, even though I'm an English student at the moment, there's only one book I want to be reading this year...
(Yep, sorry to ask again but any clue when it's out? :D

I've been off the baccy a whole week now... It gets loads easier after about 4 days, I used a bit of the special chuddy when I started turning into a total b*stard, which took the edge off, and now 'm feeling real good without it...

My other new year's resolution is to learn lots of nursery rhymes and stuff. And to talk more into the missus' tummy....

Children whos mothers sang to them throughout pregnancy usually have the ability to sing in tune themselves.  Presumably this assumes that the mum can actually sing in the first place though.

So, get crooning away to that bump UG....

It's already had a dose of 'Enter the 36 chambers', although shorty reckons there'll be no cuss words allowed once it's popped out. But fear not, there's always the funk....

What is it with this "don't swear around kids" business? I don't get it? Swearing is part of language, and they're going to learn it all as soon as they get to school anyway.
Ok, it's probably not ideal if your little darling's first words are "die cocksucker" or something, but aren't people just being over-protective?

On the subject of Funk - I found a guy on Soulseek yesterday who has 8500 funk and soul choons - sweet....but I didn't know what any of them were  :?

Hmm, well it doesn't go down well when I use the 'C' word at home either. I still think it'd be nice to bring a babby up with a useful grasp of English rather than having to resort to swearing to express itself. I think it's horrible when you hear someone talking and every other word is f**k or c*nt, or they use f*ckin' just like you say erm...

On the subject of funk- I'll come and have a look on Thursday...

Oh man, she's really got you under that thumb! If an man can say "cnuting cnut fuckin hell!" in his own home, what is the world coming to

I agree, it's not good if somebody can't talk a sentence without several swear words thrown in, but one here and there is just part of our language. Swearing is great - why don't people just feel easy about it instead of coming all holier than though about it like it doesn't exist? Weird.

Might be about late Thurs...
