RIP Tim Greenhalgh

Relaying some sad news from Facebook posted by RGinns.

Quote
It is with great sadness that I have to break the news that Tim Greenhalgh passed away overnight. He was being well cared for at Christie's and was with family. It was peaceful.
Many people will know Tim as a Lancashire climbing stalwart, organiser of the WiltonFest for many years, as well as the Film Fest and other events. You will be greatly missed Tim, Rest in Peace.

In the Lancs quarries and Lancs climbing scene Tim was a quiet but ever present force working to develop new areas, maintain routes and crags as well as helping bring several generations of young climbers through the Lancs scene. Its a big loss for Lancashire climbing and he will be sorely missed.

Will repost my RIP thjread thingy here: organiser of the Wiltonfest, oft-companion to r-man's Lancs bouldering explorations, and all round cantankerous, knowledgeable and passionate Lancashire character.

Also gave me an old ice axe over a year ago and 90% of the routes I've properly cleaned have been due to that.

I never met Tim but was aware of him from various Lancashire FB posts - climbing is so dependent on these characters passionate about their local area - and have just particularly enjoyed reading your slightly longer tribute on your own FB post. Thank you for writing that.
