Siurana accommodation recommendations
December 20, 2013, 08:27:10 am
Planning a trip to Siurana for February - any accommodation recommendations? There are currently only two of us and we'll be off for a fortnight.  Don't fancy camping or dorms so a small apartment or a cabin (preferably with its own bathroom and/or kitchen) is preferred.  I've heard the campsite in Siurana has decent cabins but any alternatives would be good in case they are booked-up. We'll have a car and aren't particularly strapped for cash so happy to pay a bit more for a decent place in Corundella say  Any help much appreciated.

The luxury cabins at the campsite have showers and a kitchen area but you'd probably need to book early if its a busy time. I'd imagine there are plenty of apartments at Cornudella but don't know any specifically. Tarragona is less than an hour a way too.

Feb is a good bit away, I'd imagine if you contacted the campsite soon you'd get a cabin.

+1 on the luxury cabins, we stayed in a standard one and it was a shed (cold), the maintenance chap was giggling as he let us in. If/when I go back I'll be looking at places in Corundella.

Enjoy, it's fucking brilliant!

Worth trying the refugio in Cornudella, it has a number of two/three people rooms which you can book if they aren't too busy, you'll obviously have to use a limited shared kitchen but we had our own bathroom and were the only ones there in early january for two weeks. Better value than the campsite.

The campsite isn't great value for money but always preferred staying there, the bar is a cool place to hang out in the evenings or if the weather is bad, whereas Cornudella is a bit grim - depends what you want really. There's a huge difference between the luxury and normal cabins - well worth the price hike.

Also it depends if you just want to climb a Siurana or visit some of the surrounding crags as well - Cornudella would be handier for that.

Cheers fellas.  The luxury cabins at the campsite sound a good option, the friend I am going with said it was a good scene in the bar there - drinking and football on telly.  Will email and see the availability.

I can vouch for the footy being on and there was always a group or two drinking in there at night. No water at all, anywhere on site at times tho, once for over 24hrs.
