Sardinian version of Green Traverse
September 30, 2009, 07:20:58 pm

If I do this a few times I should be able to do the Green Traverse at Xmas  :beer2:

This is the place described at http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,11643.0.html Company welcome, not all the problems are as OK to fall off as this one (I missed both mats...)

Well I went back today and did it first try after warming up by doing the last (hard) section. I then did 2 6C's and this   very nice 6B. Today was a lovely sunny day with a light breeze. Back again next week...

Here are sources of new route info for Sardinia (I posted this on UK Climbing in the spring, but here it is again, updated, since people may find it useful, I also added info on bouldering)

http://www.pietradiluna.com/blog/images/topos/topos_arch.html

Topos you can right click and download from PietradiLuna.com, Maurizio Oviglia’s blog. Includes boulders as well. Maurizio has made the largest single contribution to bolting in Sardinia, as well as authoring the Pietra di Luna guidebook (new one coming out end of year with only single pitch routes, so the current one is still good for long routes. I am doing the translation into English) and map guides to Iglesiente, Ogliastra (where we live and run a guesthouse for climbers, walkers, cyclists, and kayakers, we develop a lot of cimbing as well eg see http://27crags.com/crags/su-telargiu-oro-cave/topos), Cala Gonone and North Sardinia.

www.sardiniaclimb.com as well as news in English, has topos for long routes which you can download http://www.sardiniaclimb.com/Cartoline/cartoline.html Unfortunately the owners of the site don't develop it so only the news gets updated now.

UP the European yearbook of climbing http://www.up-climbing.com which you buy in the UK from Cordee (on-line from their site). Maurizio is Chief Editor, contains many topos of both crags and multipitch routes.

We have all these sources at The Lemon House, and lots of other info.

Happy cimbing Peter
