Indeed it is - the specs have been out for some time now touting some very impressive figures. It uses a new connector which has a couple of extra pins set back from the normal USB ones so they are back compatible with USB2.0 and older

Its hitting the shops but ain't as hot as its supposed to be.

Admittedly as the above article indicates, these are first generation and things will improve, but who the fuck is going to be dumb enough to go and buy them then?

You don't want USB 3.0, you want Light Peak..
