Classic Red Circuits in Font
August 20, 2009, 12:20:52 am
I did the Blue Circuit at Roche aux Sabots on my last trip, which was great, and think I'd like to do a red circuit this trip (end of Sept).
Anyone got any recommendations for classic red circuits: varied, decent length...??

Cheers

Won't go far wrong with the red circuit at Gorge aux Chat.

Cheers for the suggestions. Isatis sounds good, 62 problems!! Yeah you'd be pretty spanked by the end  :spank:

:agree:

I like the Cuvier reds, but I've only ever attempted the middle section. There are some quite good powerful problems on it, as well as a classic slab or two.

the Sabot red is THE classic of all the red circuits, even without the 25. Then, you have like 30 crimpy on the red at Guichot, a very nice red circuit in the sun at 91 and a very nice shady red circuit at Bois Rond, and you know what ? hundreds of other one almost all the forest through, that is for sure not a worry !

the reds at gorge aux chats always seem nice. red at sabots seem good but between chipped slots with horrific polished footholds.

Yes, Sabot can be polished as it is so popular, but then, get your mind focused on "confidence in your feet" and you'll sort it out well !!!
Guichot is a real nice and quiet shady crag. there was a yellow and a red at the beginning that turned to an orange, a blue and a red. all kinda mixed of each other to develop the area.
the red is rather a tough one, whith nice slops and lots of crimps.
circuiting on the orange and the blue is always a lot of fun.
landings all cool too and has a couple of 8...

sorry I think i accidentally let my cursor slip between lines there and deleted some text - it was supposed to say that sabots red are good but hard, and cuvier reds are shit, being mainly deep elbow-knackering locks between chipped slots with horrific polished footholds.

I'd say one of the true font experiences is the red circuit with the piano at appremont.

Funnily enough, that's my favourite style of problem  ;D

I really like the reds around la marie rose area, particularly Les Bretelles, where you have to really squeeze a pinch on the left arete of a block http://bleau.info/cuvier/1962.html and the weirdness of la Suzanne http://bleau.info/cuvier/1968.html
