hey all,

For a conference I'll be in Glasgow july 26-30, and I'm planning to have a small session (or two) at Dumbarton Rock.
Now I've found a guide, but I'll never find the prime lines in one session.

If anybody's willing to give either some tips, or even hook up with me (with a crashpad  :-[), I'd be much obliged! (level up to 7A/B font)
I'm looking at monday 27th and/or wednesday 29th, both in the afternoon.

Thanks in advance!
cheers, grubber

If it's dry, you are pretty much guaranteed there will be people there, if not afternoon, then definitely early evening onwards. Ask a friendly Glaswegian where the lines are you fancy a go at, then get a dictionary to translate the response into English :)

There are lots of online topos too, which show you where a lot of the problems are, might be worth having a search about for some of them, Dave Macleod has some on his site, as do Stone Country and I think Scottish Climbs, too.  I can't give you links as they're banned for me in work.  ::)  You'll find them with a quick search though.

As Chris says, if the weather is good then there are likely to be people about if you just head down, you could also post on Scottish Climbs if you're keen to have a partner arranged, more local folk might see it there.

Unfortunately Dumbarton's premier tour guide is away that week but I'm sure you'll find someone to show you.

There are regular trains from Glasgow to Dumbarton, it takes about 35 minutes and the station is walking distance from the crag.
