Sansara 7A Eridge Green

This looks harder than 7A to me. The guidebook says that it goes straight up the middle of the face so I guess both the left and right arêtes are out. There's a very shallow mono that I can just about see could be used to get to the holds half way up but what then?

You got it no aretes. It also has a reputation for being one of the hardest 7a's on Sandstone. I think it's one of Ian Stronghills, so bound to be under graded.

I haven't done it as I'm shit on slabs, but a 7c mate of mine has had a quick play and got a spanking too.

One of the Ian's may be along to dish out the beta. Good luck!

I contacted Ian and he gave me this beta:

Quote
Hey Peter, yeah I did the FA of Sansara. Some people say it feels hard for 7a,but I feel 7a is fair.If it was in Font it would probably only get 6b+!
Side pull on the right, stand on the break, hands in pockets above.
Take the right pocket as an undercut, get the left pocket as far left as possible(to leave room for your left foot).
Smear right foot, left foot into pocket.
Left hand up to a poor diagonal slopey edge, now pop your right hand to a small quarter pad mono(crux) straight above the right hand pocket.
Regain your balance & rock up,left hand to top.
Top out!
I hope this helps.
Ian
