What's the advantage of a fixed leg loop then? I've always had adjustable ones as its what most harnesses sold seem to be. With a fixed leg loop don't you risk extra space that you could trap something painful in?

weight is one factor, and also wear - on my current harness with adjustable leg loops the bit of tape that is doubled back through the buckle that never gets moved is all furry and buffed up. also to accomodate the fastening most adjustable leg loops have pess padding/thinner staps at the side, which can be less comfy, especially if you're wearing them at the big end of the adjustment range.

Wildly  :off: Forget about comfort, its the name that matters. The only real choice has to be the "Jasper" from Camp

I can't believe there's a climbing product called the Camp Jasper. I was convinced you'd made that up til I Googled it.

In my time working at Cotswolds, the most comfy harness I tried was the Petzly Calidris.

Its got them quick release type adjustments which some peeps hate. But it was VERY quick to get on and off and VERY comfy. I didn't actually purchase one as I would never have used it really. The odd times I was roped into belaying someone (Ignore the pun) I wore a DMM ALpine and found it to be very comfy as well.

you see that started off like a well-informed recommendation until you dropped the bombshell that you found the DMM Alpine comfy, thus shattering in illusion - my little sister had a DMM alpine, it was about as comfy as sitting in a sling, which is effectively all it is!

I have to admit, a lot of people found it hard to believe I found the Alpine comfy!! I don't know why, it just didn'y bother me.

I'd defo have a look at a Calidris though, they be sweet.

didn't get fuckall in the end. ironically after posting this the horrendous humid wet weather and various injuries/holidays/weddings of all my homies put the kaibosh on the route ambitions to an extent, only got one 1 route since, so glad I didn't get owt - I may as well wait for next year and get a more recent harness on clearance.

had push come to shove i may have gone for that basic WC one with fixed legs etc.
