boots for the lime..
August 07, 2008, 05:38:07 pm
have been getting back into doing routes of late and could do with some shoes for places like kilnsey and malham.. strangely my V10's and dragons aren't quite doing it so I wondered if anyone had any recommendations? There's a pair of pink anasazi's for sale at work for £40, loads of people rave about these, are they as good as people say? also what about the verde? they seem kinda cool, flexible but with a decent edge.. dont really want to have to consider the white sazi.. £80 for any five ten shoe is a bit of piss take methinks..

anyone got any other recommendations?

If the dragons etc. aren't doing it for you on your chosen routes then go for something softer and a little less down toed. Pinks (or new whites perhaps?), Velcro's there's plenty that fit the bill. I think it depends on your route more than the crag  I mean the north buttress is pretty different to Man with a gun and Malham is different again.

Can't go wrong with the pinks for Lime routes. At £40 they're a bargain.

i really like scarpa spectros for limestone, because of the way the toebox is, they actually get better the more you wear them (no matter how worn they get you can still use matchsticks, my toes pretty much came through the my old ones before I had to replace them). they're a bit stiff to start with but once they soften up they're brilliant.
