Keswick area accommodation
March 04, 2009, 09:25:01 pm
Hi can anyone recommend some decent, cheapish accommodation in the Keswick area please.  Something like a b&b or a bunkhouse or pub accommodation etc.Cheers.

Hey up. The YHA on Staion Road/street is pretty good and not to steep cost wise. It's staggering distance from town as well which is good. It is very popular with C2C groups though so can get busy. Failing that there is a place on Penrith Road called Denton House that is ok and just a little further away from town. The other option you have is to contact the tourist information centre in the Moot Hall. They have a full list of all the B&Bs and can help you out.

Hope that helps.

I also recommend the YHA, the best hostel ive stayed in. Nice brekkys and the showers stay nice and hot all the time  :great:

I stopped in the YHA when I did the C2C back in my school days and it was great back then. 'Twas over a decade ago but surely things can't have changed to much!!

When you coming up John? Could hook up and give you a tour if you haven't been before.

Cheers for the suggestions guys.  Just heading up for a weekend for my gf's birthday but will hopefully get a day/afternoon bouldering.  Golt i'm pretty familiar with the area as I have been on holiday there with the family every summer since I was 5, but if you fancing hooking up for a bouldering sesh i'd be keen.  I let you know nearer the time.  I might check out the Gillercombe boulders as I haven't been there.
