Marks Roof - Gardoms
March 18, 2008, 01:32:53 pm
Just a quick question....

When you get to the lip you traverse left with heel out right obviously, do you leave the heel out right for the slap up or move it out left? Or even put your left foot in the pocket of Marks Roof Left Hand?

All ways felt hard for me, but I'm weak as a very weak thing.

Cheers Tim

You can rock over on your right foot to go up with your right hand (this is the way I first did it) but it's much easier to swing your left foot out to the pocket, and lock off to reach up with your left hand first.

Put LF in pocket of MR Left hand. Mantel down with right hand on the boss once you have your left hand up on the top. I believe the pocket on MRLH used to be 'out' for the feet but this is now a non-eliminate problem so anything goes.

Yes, when I first did it the pocket out left was out. It's a nicer problem with the pocket (can't remember if its a toe or heel).

this manteling down just doesn't work for some people/body sizes. me included - i just matched up and kept slapping.

I believe the pocket on MRLH used to be 'out' for the feet

Thats news to me. I must have tried it a dozen times with countless different people over 8 years and this was never mentioned.

Would have been '96 ish when I was shown with the pocket being out. Might just have been because my mates could do it without

Yes I remember talking to you at the crag about this Lagers a few months back - I was there with some others. Must have been a product of the nineties eliminate culture!!

Dave, the mantel works for me, granted its not for everybody, its just a quick press down to gain some height then quickly stab up with the RH.

I put right heel up to slap up, then match, take right heel off and swing body over left and put left toe in MRLH pocket and keep udging till you can reach the good hold with your right hand
