Turned my PC on the other day and the monitor failed to switch itself from standby to on. Have been playing round with it ever since and can't get it to work. Have tried a different monitor and that wouldn't work either. Being shit with computers i haven't a clue. Any ideas anyone. Ta

no used different lead, will check the graphics thing.

So it goes into standby, but won't power on?
Check your leads first.  If you don't get a video input on some models, they won't power up.
Have you got a power/standby button?  (sorry, obvious question)

did some random prodding around inside the machine and it seems to have sorted it! ta all.

Sounds like graphics card became unseated. You should work in IT mate!
