Kids! ker!

Bit of a bluetooth phone warning.

Chatting to a techy from one of our schools today and apparently the new thing going round is kids hacking each others phones via bluetooth, deleting stuff, making calls, access the phonebook and sms, factory reset etc etc.  I think they are using 'Super Bluetooth Hack', which is freely available to download if you want a play.

this version still requires you to accept a bluetooth connection before you can access the files, however the techy seems to think they weren't having to accept connections. I'll believe this when I see it, but I wouldn't put it past someone to create a free access version. I think it's more likely one kid nicked anothers phone then gave it back one it had accepted the connection. (It only asks you for a code the first time)

Not to scaremonger but just incase you haven't already, turn off your bluetooth especially on buses etc.

Youths eh? Lock 'em up, or put 'em on military service, or shoot 'em.

Seriously though, I never leave my bluetooth on because I'm paranoid it'll give me cancer.

Don't worry Andi.  Orange and Vodafone say it perfectly safe to talk for 23 hours a day on a mobile glued to your head, so you're totally safe.

Only children still include fractions in their ages.

turn off your bluetooth especially on buses etc.

On WHAT?! I leave my BT on so the phone syncs with my ever changing Outlook schedule at work, and since living out in the sticks means a distinct lack of those Charabancs of which you speak means that it's always a Ford Fizzyesta trip into S1 anyway, I haven't been too worried. And of course there's always the chance of being 'Toothed'....  :shag: ;)

But I do notice the decline in battery life when it's syncing every hour when I'm desk bound. PITA but I like to know where I'm supposed to be having my next power nap...
