should read: 2 choss heaps not boulders
I think I know where they are anyway. There is a reason why there is no chalk on them. It rained the day before

Ask seller a question "Are you taking the piss, or just incredibly stupid?"

some people might be stupid/naive enough to bid on that, so the only "fun" to be had there is at their expense. seems a bit exploitative to me, regardless of how blatant and ridiculous it seems to us in the know.

Sounds like Resonate has been trying to profit from flogging the Ox Stones ;)

I don't really understand the problem with this. Somebody is selling location details of a bit of rock. If anyone is daft enough to bid then fair play to the person selling this information. It seems like quite an entreupeneurial idea actually. Selling information to the uninformed is fair play in my book, and is actually how the economy tends to run in the UK.

Just because you happen to know the location and are willing to give the information away for free doesn't make this person trying to sell it a fool or a twat. It makes them smart/ruthless enough to try to make a bit of money. I think it's quite amusing actually.

As long as idiots don't end up trying to sell information concerning boulders on private land or in areas with sensitive access situations, I can see your point.

There again, idiots will be idiots and doubtless wouldn't consider the ramifications of their actions.

The problem with it is that the ebay listing implies that it is both unknown and undeveloped....which makes it a scam.

Anyway, no fool is going to bid on it so who cares :)

A friend of a friend sold a glass of water on Ebay, and my friend bought it for £1mil. Just for fun. Ebay charged the X% they charge buyer and seller, which came to around £3000. They were screwed. They had to pay. They're just starting to recover financially.

Wouldn't have been amusing if it was a joke, and their friend bid £1m. Well maybe it would...

I suppose evrytime we by a guidebook to a new place we are paying for the knowledge of how to get there etc. Guidebooks even include 'sensitive' areas for completeness, so in that respect I don't suppose he's doing anything wrong.

Trying to sell it as unused however is taking the mick, especially as someone is touching the holds in one pic - tainted.
