Bonnie does Clyde...
May 23, 2007, 09:21:22 am
Yes, that bonnie young man Hocking has repeated Gaz Parry's awesome Clyde V12, Parasellas Cave.  Hasslehock, shock horror, used a very different sequence on this, but also confiriming the grade, with both sequences being height dependant;  Hocks sequence being for midgets, and Parry's for people of a more 'normal' stature. ;) Da iawn, yr Moch Ddaer yn wedi dod allan eto!

What is this continued complex Hock has about being short? I'd say he's of average height but with the added advantage of having the wingspan of a Peruvian Kite! Good effort Stacko, keeping it real for us shorties  ;).

any info on the sequence he used? I really struggle with matching the lip (ie. the crux) because I'm so stretched doing in the original method.

There's some clues in this report:

Interesting thing is, he reckons he goes straight to the jug!

I should have pics later - will post them up.

Having never climbed in the cave;  when I went there once ten years ago I thought this and in the photos of Adam it just looks like a confusing sea of holds.

Are the hard problems such as this one 'Clyde' eliminates?

There are very few eliminates in the cave, a few exist but not many people even know about them. It may look confusing but the lines are pretty logical.

Well done Hock

Nearly all of the problems in the cave are entirely legitimate lines of least resistance. That is one of the reasons (and there are many) why it is so good; there is always a variety of methods suiting the tall, the short, the flexible etc. as Hock's new method on Clyde demonstrates.

On first acquaintance it might look like a sea of holds, but as soon as you've got stuck in it all becomes very obvious.
