Yesterday I battled cold winds and periodic hail to nail my project at Earl. 'Cirque du Freak' 8a+/8b? climbs the groove and arete on the Hanging Wall boulder. It starts from sitting with your left hand on the arch shaped undercut, right hand pinching the arete and feet on the back of the roof. It's a funky little number, quite physical which is unusual for Earl and rather morpho in style. 'Cirque' took a lot of cold evening sessions and I found myself getting freakishly obsessed, ie climbing at Earl when I could/should have been at home training in the warm! Needless to stay I celebrated a little last night!

Good effort (from a fellow teacher) -  inspiring stuff! Line does look v. hard indeed.

However it does take away my excuse of not climbing too hard during term time because of excess work
