While mathematicians have known for a long time about the beauty and the uniqueness of E8, we physicists have come to appreciate its exceptional role only more recently

E8 is much bigger.

See, big numbers, that's what it's all about.

The team calculated that if all the numbers were written out in small type, they would cover an area the size of Manhattan

I can just imagine one of the 19 mathematicians pondering this for a few seconds to come up with such a an amazing fact. I need such a mathematician to calculate how many bowls of Cereal it would take to fill Jodrell Bank radio telescope...

11743898895 Cheerios, but more Rice Crispies.

The SI unit of cereal is the Bwl (Pa .s m-2·kg-1·s4·A2) which measures frequency of consumption x capacitance of the bowel /
velocity of the spoon x the dynamic viscosity of the milk.

OK then, how much milk would be required, and how many people would you need to consume the cereal within ten minutes? (the EC approved maximum time allowed before the cereal goes soggy*)

I think we should know.

* Gold Nuggets are non- EC approved as they remove the skin from your palette, no mater how long you leave them to soak for.

As on more than one occasion in my life I've previously had cause to remark `too many chiefs and not enough indians' I have to ask: did each of these 19 people really each do some of the work, or is it a case of lots of people wanting their name on an important paper?
