Portland Bouldering
May 24, 2003, 10:04:30 am
Anyone know where I can get info on the action on Portland.  I've got the portland-bill and cuttings topo off portland-climbing.com, but it's really old, and the hardest problem on it is V7.  I was under the impression there were some v10/11s lying about somewhere on the island.

Is the info in the latest portland rockfax?  Although I'd rather save my student loan and download something for free.

Ive got the Dorset rockfax with reptile smile on the front. Its from 1998 I think, and has a bit of bouldering in it.

There is a new one that will come out this autumn (apparently - yeah right) whihc i guess will have more bouldering in.

Jimbo Kimber posts over on cocktalk a lot, you could email him to find out - hes strong.

Think Ben Thorp on CT knows about it an all.

The Cuttings, if you go, is quite hard- but most of them are just starts to sports routes, and you have to jump off - not the best.

cheers mozzer,

Unfortunately I e-mailed Jimbo and he just told me to wait for the rockfax, like I said, I don't want to be spending my student loan on such things, especially as it is mainly routes, and I haven't touched one of them for years.

I'll just go down and hopefully bump into someone knowledgeable.
