Concentration of Grit Problems
December 30, 2005, 03:44:26 pm
Was musing over the Blockbuster block at Caley and was wondering if there are any bits of grit with more non-eliminate hard problems than this.

Reckon that:
Northern Soul V10
Blockbuster V8/9
Zoo York V10
Guacamole V10/11
SDS to Guacamole V11/12
Ju Ju Club V9

is pretty intense for about twenty-five foot of grit.

Any other bids?????

Boule de Nerfs 7a
Boule de Nerfs assis 7a+
Hip Hop 8a+
Hip Hop assis 8b+
l'Arete de Boissy 7c+
Evidence 7c+
Eden Roc 7b
Eden Roc assis 7b+

What do you mean by bits of grit? Boulders or sections of crag? Not that I can think of any.

As far as non-eliminates on any rock type goes, the Trowbarrow boulder is pretty impressive in UK terms. Can anyone list all the problems on that? V15, V13, V11 and some others?

And the Dreamtime boulder has a few hard things doesn't it?

How about if we do average grades for boulders with five or more problems on?

The blockbuster bloc has an average grade of V10.

Gosh darn it. I 'm sure there are other things I should be doing.

Bruno boulder at Averstal will take some beating.

Sorry, I see the topic is called 'Grit'. Apart from the crag itself being fierce as many sections are, it is a great feeling when (regardless of grade), one ticks an entire boulder, section, or area. Kind of how Ron must feel when he opens his front door. I did once tick a boulder, only for some long haired girl to put up a new line which I have not since repeated. At least he had the first ascent stolen from him...
