Old Just Do It Pictures
May 13, 2015, 01:34:47 pm
Bit of a long shot but I wondered if anybody out there had any pictures of Jibe Tribout on Just Do It from old magazines from the 1992 to mid 90's? I am trying the route and these would be really useful for beta/ inspriation.

I have googled this and found this picture, which is great http://www.8a.nu/images/206/206_633539787692131250_climbing_magazine_133.jpg but I remember seeing others, maybe from an old On the Edge mag? There was one in particular that sticks in my mind of taken from above of Jibe cranking on a mono on the crux with the rope snaking down the face and his eyeballs popping out of his head!

If anybody can access any such pics, could they perhaps post them up? Thanks in advance.

Good strategy. I have a picture of Kurt Albert on Sautanz next to my fingerboard.

Ted, have you watched the climbing film 'The Professionals'? http://www.iclimb.com/products/The-Professionals-Download.html

There's a 5ish minute section of just do it about 20 minutes in. It's a great film for psyche for American sport climbing, one of my favourites. The route isn't climbed in full but there are lots of shots of what I assume is the crux section and footage of other routes there.

Thanks for the replies, I have only seen the Professionals once years ago but had forgotten all about it, thanks I will buy. Yes the Drew Ruana film was on heavy rotation most days of my trip there recently, he is a quite a bit shorter than me so does some moves differently and is a lot stronger so makes it looks so easy. He basically shakes his way up it. There are 2 other videos on the internet of it of Ryan Palo and Paige Claassen plus the Chris Sharma one that you can buy.

Great, I understand some pics may be being unearthed shortly so if any are found I will post them up for psyche!

That was awesome, and really nice at the end (if a little awkward).

Indeed. Growing up on a Masters of Stone rich diet, it was one of the places I always fancied visiting (along with Cave Rock at Tahoe, which I saw but was a shadow of it's former self), but time and finances conspired against me.
