Torridon weekend sometime this spring
April 09, 2014, 12:17:24 pm
When I have a free weekend and forecast is good (and planets align!) planning on heading over to Torridon for a weekend if anyone is keen. Probably taking van from Aberdeen, so lifts available. Holler if anyone is up for it, and I'll let you know closer to the time if anything happens.

I'm in Torridon from 9th-16th may. Will be with the other half and padless so deffo up for stealing the car and going AWOL for a day of bouldering if you or anyone else is about during that time?

If you are in Torridon village the boulders are walking distance, and quite a few probs can be done padless. I'll pencil in 10/11 May as an option though, will see how it looks closer to the time?

I'm well interested Chris but depends on a few factors, work not the least. I've got a week booked off at the end of May but will be very busy in the 3 weeks before with major MoD project going live and very probably all over the place as the primary sites are in Southern England, Kent and the Midlands with me based in Fife - feckin typical

10th/11th will sadly be a no-no for me, very envious lol!

Chris - slight (complete) thread hijack..   but am quite likely to be coming up to Scotland for Easter weekend. Mates surfing stag do, there was talk of sandwood bay but the thurso forecast currently looks all time so that's the most likely venue.  Just in case you're around.. I know Scotland is a big place though  ::)    I'm guessing bouldering wise Thurso way is probably the worse place up there?

All good. I've seen that Forrs stuff before, looks good, but not actually been. There was a lad who posted on here for a while (submarinesniper or something?) who lives up that way and he said there was other stuff. There's some pics of some DWS stuff on UKC in the area that looks good, and Northern Highlands North has several ace looking crags.

I've still not explored the coastline between Durness and Wick, but it's all sandstone so there must be more. Some great climbing at Latheronwheel on the way up.

Sadly committed to family plans for the easter weekend :(

Eddies, you manage to get any climbing done? I'm being sidelined by a series of weddings, stag weekends and things this spring!
