And before you all start giving him grief, I can confirm that I've never seen lagers climb 8B either.

Conclusive proof of absolutely nothing, right there.

Not sure why people are getting so flustered over one post in which Adam just pointed out that the problems in the video didn't look that hard (especially when nobody said they were supposed to be).

Check the thread, one post = massive shitstorm and talk of doubters etc.....

Bit touchy boys, doesn't look good does it?

I was just pointing out eyeballing grades from a vid of a board is bollocks, nothing further!

just to be clear, is grading things by just looking at them OK for guidebooks?

obviously my thing about the drop knee, twisty campness was just a bit of fun which was not intended as a trigger for hate-mail and death threats from 'Skins Fundamentalists

Great video, thanks for doing this.

John seemed a bit more relaxed and engaging in this than the previous one...maybe conducting the interviews in garage, whilst cranking out a few problems, rather than kitchen is the way forward?

Malcolm and Rich Simpson next please!

Theres a bit of an unspoken battle I believe in underground parts of the land of lakes, the Priory of Gaskion against Gaskights Templar..  they're searching for something, locals believe is hidden on the underside of a rock high in the hills at the end of the valley of the Kentman..   :look:

Of course, but it's better to do this whilst looking at a copy of the guidebook you are plagiarising!

I like the interviews, I've said nothing about shark. What I was referring to was the full page of drivel above with various unfunny references to gaskins that makes people look about 7 years old

Yeah the bitterly cynical / barely veiled sceptical replies are a much more palatable response.

Seems to me this and the other Gaskins thread are the climbing equivalents of UKC religion/politics threads. Some people believe, some people don't believe, this new 'evidence' fits into the existing belief system either way.

BTW, good interview Shark, more of the same would be excellent. One person I'd be interested to know more about is Pete Oxley, who seems to have put up the whole of Portland and Swanage almost single-handedly in an amazing service to southern sport climbers.

Pete Oxley

Hasn't he emigrated to NZ? Or did he come back?

I remember seeing Pete Oxley at a competition somewhere in the early 90s. He'd brought his Hilti. I never did find out why but thought it amusing that maybe he'd expected to have to equip the route himself.
