press foothold breakage
April 23, 2013, 04:33:27 pm
hey just to say I broke a foothold off the press at rubicon today  :spank: the left foot for the kneeling start first move. The problem still goes with a slightly different foothold but may be a bit harder not sure
the remaining bits of the hold are by where they came off if anyone is interested

Had a look at this today, there's also a new foothold appeared in the middle of the wall too.

This latter new foothold will make tsunami easier, as the sloper match can now be completed with your foot wedged in.

The low press foothold has no effect on the press stand, but the low starts are all now much harder. Pretty sure it's possible without, as I managed the move into the gaston and nearly pulled out of it, but need some refinement

I have gathered up and kept the press foothold and the pieces that came out from behind the new foothold. This is a large left facing spike now, and is even big enough to use as a hand hold, but is moving so will most likely come off soon. The press foothold is pretty much in one piece.

Also, it looks as though more ivy has been stripped from the right side of the wall, revealing a line of holds right of A Bigger Prize which were chalked on Thursday.

Any ideas what this is (off topic i know)?
I had a look today, but didn't touch it yet.
Just looks like a few hard pulls of Rubicon standard holds.

Is anything happening with the press foothold? Was trying the low start today and would be interested to know if it's going to stay as it is or if the foothold is going back on. Thanks.

I'm assuming not then........
