Stone Farm Sussex
July 26, 2013, 01:27:24 pm
Popped over to Stone Farm this morning

I would strongly not recommend anyone go with family this weekend or until a clean up has taken place.

Sadly it seems that the summer weather has brought out local party people

There are broken bottles all around the first boulder and worse the bottles seem to have been thrown and smashed against the boulder leaving a number of the breaks filled with shards - I did my best to clean the worse but couldn't get it all.

Also the reconstruction of the pathway behind rocks with crushed chalk has unfortunately provided plentiful writing implements to some of the more anti-social members of society leaving the rocks more heavily tagged than down town Detroit (without any of the artistic merit).

I know it's not the best place in the world to climb but right now it's thoroughly unappealing, and certainly not child friendly

Thats a real shame... I suspect its end of term A level/GCSE crowd... Stone farm never had the best rock in the region, but it was always a very pleasant location of a summers evening. :(

Bastards. First place i ever climbed, bet rock race is now a foot or more further back than it was in 1989.

We were there a couple of weeks back on a lovely summer evening and it was ok, odd bit of litter but not too bad.  This dispute some kind of scout group finishing up as we arrived.  Later as the evening drew in there were indeed a few groups of 2/3 around chilling, drinking a beer and smokin but all seemed pleasant enough.

It was our first visit and there didn't seem that much houses around.. Am I wrong?  Where do they come from?
