Woody Query

Probably in the wrong section but didn't really think it'd be the right place in the board construction!

What are peoples thoughts on building a woody in a 2nd floor flat? Which means there's 2 level of people below me! Got the space, got the house mates approval (he's even offered to help build it, win!) and got a design but unsure whether it whether it would be viable due to noise, etc.

So thoughts? I do also have a beastmaker set up already so not completely out of options for training.

As long as you pad it out and don't power scream at 3am I can't see there being an issue?

Build it and then train in religious silence and concentration.
A good padding to avoid visiting the flat below yours, could also do.

I guess if you padded it out there shouldn't really be a problem, some of these modern flats could easily transfer the noise of the thud as you repeatedly fail.

Also beware modern flats some of them have limitations on how many people the floor can support (i kid you not).

but its pretty irrelevant given the amount of furniture loading etc. its all designed for, non?

I think it'd hugely depend on how the flat is constructed. Ours for instance is fine floor to floor and flat to flat as the walls and floors have substance. The interior walls might as well be paper. I built a board in mine but rapidly took it down as I hadn't really thought about just how hot it'd get, cutting the air space in half in a small room.

I posted them on the woodie thread when it was built. It was just a flawed idea.

well the room is big (and has french windows and a balcony so plenty of air flow) and has carpet so that should absorb some of the noise. Got plenty of pads too!
