Is there a sneaky knack to this?? Played around on it the other day and got spanked by the moves off the ground, felt ok from the good 3 finger slot..

Also where does slopey arete start? I could reach the 2 crimps from sitting but that felt a bit dubious for 7a.......

Can't you reach the slot when sitting.

I'm pretty sure Slopey arete starts off the two crimps and a low left foot. Then slap your right up onto the first sloper. Re-arrange feet underneath arete/roof. Get left hand up to next sloper. Bit of adjusting around and then try to mantel it out.

When you say dubious, do you mean harder or softer. Felt fair enough to me. No real tricks to it, just a bit of thuggery.

webbo - could with a doubled up mat but felt like cheating, there was chalk on the lowest section of the crack

can't help on Mchaffie's crack but Slopey Arete goes like Jamie G said. Depends how strong you are i guess cos i thought it was nails with no tricks available to overcome it. You can either pull it or you can't - and i couldn't. Once you've done that move the rest is easy.

Both my mates could reach slot easily from sitting 5.10+ I think that I put one hand in the slot then sat down.

sweet cheers guys think i will do the hand in slot then sit down although from the sounds of if it i should be able to reach....must try harder
