Yo I got a mate in prison who's dragons are coming apart at the heel seam. He wants to try and glue em up just so he can keep wearing em for non heel intensive shit to get his moneysworth out of the rest of the shoe.

Reading up on old threads seems like wetsuit glue has been suggested for this typa ting. Anyone actually used it for similar stuff? Or any other experience of glueing heels? Obviously theres a lot of tension through the boot at that point. Not expecting miracles but if he can keep the shoe wearable then he'll be happy (pun).

I've got some wetsuit repair glue your welcome to try but i doubt it would be strong enough. I recon you need some Evo-Stick type contact adhesive, or better some...

used to use it on skate shoes - seemed to stick things together nice. this was a long, long time ago though.

I've used shoe goo a fair amount. It works well

Tried it on my teams for exactly the same reason last week, typical five ten.... It doesn't seem to have worked too well (i.e. it won't hold the two torn bits together), but it may well prevent the split from getting any worse? (just a guess). On a side note I also used the stuff on trainers and approach shoes and it has worked amazingly well.

I use a fair old bit of shoe goo.  I get a hole on my left toe (technique issues) and when the rubber starts to go I use a little dab of it.  When it's dry I go over it with superglue and voila! 

Doesn't last ages though and im not sure whether it would be any good on mending a big split.
