embarrassing bodies on telly!

Why would you put yourself on telly doing this?!?!?!

Anal Prolapse? Get on the telly!
Genital warts? Get on the telly!
A separated vagina? Get on the telly!

What on earth are these people thinking? Or am I just abnormally private?

An important show though. There are so many people on there who have lived in abject misery for a long time. The fella who had the hernia had absolutely no self confidence, drew looks in public etc yet he lived with it for 10 years! One trip to the doctors and the ball was rolling to get it fixed!

I admit I'm as bad as the next man for going to the doctors. I will not go unless I am at Death's door but this should encourage people to stop being so neurotic and get stuff checked.

Maybe they get an "appearance" fee? Would have to be a lot though for me to bare all on telly.

As I put in the Gypsy Wedding thread, I'm stuck in bed ill and bored (and not enjoying the crisp grit conditions :boohoo: ). After getting my fill of gypsiness I decided to see what this was all about. Not having had a TV for years I didn't know they put this stuff on telly!

I had a sebacous cyst on my arsecheek for about 6 years when I was younger. I had no idea what one was so just put it out of my mind as I was convinced the doctor would say it was cancer and put me out of my misery or something. When it got so big that the then-Mrs Cheque insisted I went to the doctor he cheerily said "Oh yeah, nothing serious, I can get that out under local anasthetic next week!" I felt like a twat and haven't hesitated to drop my kecks in front of doctors (within scheduled appointment times of course) ever since.

Not sure I'd do it on TV though! Massive respect to the double-fanny girl in particular for having the guts. She must either see it as doing her bit for public awareness or be getting paid a shitload.

Can you find out why?

<edit> I mean why she went on the show, not why it hurt during sex. Although that could also be interesting.

From what I've heard; having sex after giving birth usually hurts unless the epidural is still working.

Best to give it at least a couple of days before going for it.

Was she the one they had stitched up wrong?  That episode made me squirm.  :'(

I don't understand the motivation to go on TV with something you are too embarrassed to speak to a Dr about in private, but I do agree that if it gets people to the Dr to sort out their issues then that's a good thing.
