Stanage Roads - Condition?
December 09, 2010, 08:32:38 am
Hey guys,

I'm desperate to get up to Stanage on Saturday. I've walked up twice from Hathersage since the snow and can't really face it again! Does anyone have any current experience of any of the roads approaching Stanage? I'm particularly interested in the one that goes out of the West end of Hathersage and up past Dennis Knoll (High Neb parking). Many thanks...

word, if those roads are fucked it might be a nicer walk to come in over stanage pole from redmires. at least its relatively flat.

Looks like the thaw starts today - so by Saturday it may all be peachy...

Not a bad idea that petal - what's the road up to Redmires like you (chinny) reckon?

Don't know to be honest, you'd expect that at least as far as the end of lodge moor it must be OK cos the 51 goes up there to that turning circle. At least the bit further on is all flat bar that dip by the top of wyming brook.

The doggers use it so much it's probably pretty clear.

I actually have no idea, it probably gets progressively worse since the road doesn't really lead anywhere past lodge more

well at least if you try it and get stuck there'll be someone to dig you out and then wank all over your window.

Just been over the Ringinglow to Hathersage and back. Almost totally clear, should be 100% by tomorrow. Stanage branch still blocked in normal place above Overstones. Had a nose up Stanage roads from far side and suspect they should be passable fairly soon. If not, the walk in from Apparent North is no big deal.
