  Hello everyone.

I'm heading up to Scotland in May next year with the family and was just wondering if there are any good bouldering spots in the area? Will throw the pad in anyway and have an explore but any local knowledge and grid references to any spots would be greatly received.

There is great rock everywhere in that area. Alongside the great trad routes at Stone Valley Crags, for example there are tons of undeveloped boulders on perfect Gneiss. Also loads of stuff scattered around the Gruinard Bay crags (there is a tier of good rock above the first crags you come to when you drop down to the first beach from the west with parkign on the right, and stacks of potential around the lovely Opinan Slabs and Mellon Udrigle area. The BMC guide mentions some great seaside bouldering and short solos at Mellon Charles, but never explored it.

Is there anything at Redpoint? The name would suggest plenty of hard routes. I only really want to go there because of Boards of Canada though.

 I noticed that name, amused me too. No cragging down that way in the guides, but loads of other stuff close by, including sports.
