Fingerboard session for Metolius Simulator
September 11, 2010, 09:51:51 am
Just to add on to my last post, really. Anybody got a good (different) session for me to try? I have the ones on the Metolius site and I am getting a bit bored with them. Is it worth adapting the Beastmaker workout to this board or just getting a Beastmaker?
Any other routines worth a shot?

Cheers

As I am, aware training protocols are typically not training device brand specific.

Yeah but the 2 board layouts are very different.

I used to use a modification of Buoux 8b+'s one from the Moon site.  You can do the BeastMakers ones too, with a bit of creativity.

I always thought the Metolius regimes were shit.

I like this fingerboard in a way as you can go down the sizes of holds.  I use the edges and pockets top to bottom doing 10 second hangs on each of front three, back three, front two, back two (tweaky on the bottom pockets if you are not used to it) and middle two.  Then the bottom outside rungs for three sets each of front three and back three crimps.  Then have a 5-10 minute break and warm up slightly again and do some one arm hangs.  This board is also good for progressing on one arm hangs as you can build up from one arming the the biggest outside edge with an index finger drag and biggest pockets right down to one arming the smallest edges and also the slopers which is tricky.
