Saw a few people out on them over the weekend, they look pretty cool and there are good maps at each of the stations that are scaled to give you an idea of how long it might take to ride to different places.  Good if you just want to nip somewhere as I understand it's only a quid for the day if each of your journeys is sub half an hour?

No fucking way would I get on a bike in London without a skid-lid (in fact I rarely go out without one anywhere these days, I feel naked without it).

Its got to be at least that from the looks of them. Tires probably weigh a kilo.

Seen absolutely loads in use, especially at the weekend.

Helmet issue is a funny one, I hadn't thought of it (despite commuting in one), and it doesn't look like any of lessee's have either.
