shades
July 27, 2010, 06:04:46 pm
Right.  Am off to squamish to crush big numbers (when I'm asleep) next week.

Unfortunately, my shades met their maker yesterday and so I need some new ones.

Any recommendations?  I gotta look cool whilst telling canadians how much better Font is, and asking repeatedly why they don't use font grades.

Thanks in advance.

take a shit pair out then lose them, whilst looking for them find 2 other pairs on the way back to the campsite. that was a bizarre day!
alternatively i think blocs are good, normally settle on a £30 pair. tho my head is tiny so i may be buying kids shades unknowingly

Tom Ford circa 2005 was producing beauties. 2010 range is dump. Prada have surprisingly come up with the goods this year though. Check it out g.

Pick up some cheap ones from MEC when you're here.

You'd probably get quite a favourable reception re font grades at the moment - the campsite is littered with bleedin' euros  ;)

What I was going to recommend. Or go into Decathlon here and pick up a cheap pair. Sunglasses seem to have a very finite life around me, dunno if you are the same.

yeah, thought of tk max already as there's one near work.

Three major problems.
- Firstly, all the chavvy inbreds round here have knocked most of them on the floor using their stumps whilst trying to admire each other's tramp stamps.  So, finding a pair amongst the chavs, and on the floor, is a bit of a problem.
- Secondly, for some reason, they don't seem to bother labelling birds and blokes sunglasses.  Now, I'm as relaxed about my heterosexual love God nature as the next man, but I draw the line at ladies sunglasses.
- Thirdly, you can't move for people doing yoga in TK max in London.

Actually, the last one was a lie.

It's a good idea though.  Maybe I shall go in early tomorrow, whilst the chavs are still sleeping.

if its not obvious to you whether they're birds or fellas sunnies then to be fair I wouldn't worry about it.

Since getting some polarised lenses, I can't imagine going back. Wicked for driving, anything involving water and pretty much all outdoor situations.

I've been an Oakley fan for ages - not cheap-cheap, but not designer prices either. Shop around for good deals (usually from bike shops I've found). Also lenses seem to last well.
Plus, if they cost more than £3 you won't be so quick to lose them :)

But then depends what your tastes are - as long as they block UV properly, they should be fine (If they don't, they're very bad for your eyes...).

They do alter your depth perception slightly though, tricky for those critical dynos. but you quickly get used to it.

See slackers post for the SCIENCE, I have no idea myself, only noticed it when I got a pair. Did the classic stepping off one boulder onto another only to find it wasn't actually at the height I thought it was.
