Room in Leeds wanted
July 05, 2010, 08:57:00 pm
Well, having carefully avoided it for a couple of years, I'm starting a PGCE in September.  I'll be training at Leeds Trinity (Horsforth) initially, then full time placements at two schools later in the year - hopefully not too far away.  Ideally, I'm looking for somewhere in the North Leeds vicinity, easily commutable/cycle-able to Horsforth and with easy access out of Leeds to the crags. Preferably not too rowdy since you have to do a lot of work to become a teacher apparently.  So if you could do with a lodger or have space in a shared house or student house, etc. or know of a friend who might, then please get in touch.  For what it's worth, I'm easy/good(?) to live with apparently - easy going, tidy, etc. and should be able to get a reference from when I lodged in Sheffield.
Failing this, anyone know of a good place to find accomodation in Leeds?  This just seemed the best place to start...
Cheers,
Steve

I'd recommend far headingley, its 15-20 mins to caley / the cliff, 45 to kilnsey if you step on it. (that's the important things out of the way) Cycling distance to horsforth (15mins?) , fifteen mins on a bike to city centre. Quiet. nice area but easy walk to lively pubs / bars etc in headingley. can't help with a room at the moment but if i hear of anyone i'll let you know.

Hi Steve,
I lived up that way for 5 years and the above's about right. Also lived in Horsforth itself for a year and that was ok. Quieter but nice pubs.. Drop me a pm if you want any lowdown on areas addresses etc.. Also Otley is an option too.. Means commuting into work (easy bus) but 20 min on the bike to the cliff!
