Processor Help???
May 06, 2010, 08:39:49 am
Good Morning all.

Are any of you any good on the old computer spec stuff?

I have a toss up between two laptops and it is going to come down to the processors i think.

intel pentium - su2700
intel celeron - core solo 743

I've looked for a "compare the processor" site but can't find owt! So if anyone can advise on which is the best i'd be most happy and i'll post you a love letter.

I will be running autocad 2010 with a surveying plug-in on it so don't know if that will affect comparison

Cheers

CPU benchmarks

It will also depend very much on the clock rate of each of the respective chips (the higher the better).

A decent GPU may alleviate stress on the CPU if using autocad, but having never touched that software I can't really comment..

Also why not get a dual-core processor, will certainly help if you're doing heavy Autocad and want to do other stuff at the same time, and they're not too pricey really these days.
