New Cave 7c+/8a
November 11, 2009, 06:37:40 pm
Pete Robins has climbed the project starting up Bonnie/Clyde and climbing into the left wall and finishing as for left wall high.  He has christened this The Incredible Bulk (Part 2) and says for him it was 7c+ but for humans with shorter legs it'll probably be 8a.  I shall return with pics.

Was trying this with Pepe last week and I can confirm that it is a) good b) quite shouldery c) bout right for 7c+. You can get to the last move with no real bother and then the hard bit is moving your feet onto the L wall and the hand move to get matched on the blob in the roof.

I did feel like I was gonna burst my shoulders open (less 'incredible hulk' stylee and more 'quick take me to ER' style) when moving my feet but I am a man of short legs (so 8a?) and have eaten normal amounts of food and drunk beer in the last 6 months.

ps Having only been to the cave about 3 times before last week I have to say I thought it was all ace but dont let JB know.

A man moves to Hathersage to build a woodie and climb at Parisella's... the man is... an idiot.

perhaps he didn't want to pay for the wall when it was raining and fancied a change from the plantation

Shit, my 100th post and it is talking about how strong Pete is and how good Parasellas is. Where did it all go wrong. In my defence I was in Llanberis for work and it was raining and I had to be nice to Pete as I was staying at his house.

As for the wall in my garage this is in no way a normal training board, it is the patented '23 degree trad climbers board' which will be covered in jugs which you must spend all day hanging off whilst trying to fill every T nut hole with sliders.

Posted some pics of Hock and Leeroy having a brief play on said line last year:

Ben, glad you've seen the light.

As for JB, if he's redpointing at Raven Tor then he has already crossed to the dark side. It's only a matter of time before he is lured into the Cave of Justice.

Probably about as hard as all those unrepeated V9s of yours in the Pass!  ::)
