Come on, ya'll got em. Just want some tips/experiences cleaning them. Says to dry clean or wash with cold water but I bet this looses thermal properties. I recon just sponge it down with warm soapy water as it looks dirty on the outside( year old and not washed yet ) No need to have the inside cleaned is there?.
What say thee?

i would say if its just superficial muck on t'outside, then just sponge it down with water. if its a few years old, then i'd take it to that place in sheff (the one rab recomends) where they do it for £30 and its a good as new.

don't try and fully wash it yourself though, it'll only end in tears.

The place the learned one speaks of is called Franklins, is on Onslow Road and for (I think) £20 they rejuvenated mine extremely well, I am happy! Takes a few days like, but well worth the money.

You only really need to wash the insides once all the grease and dust and stuff starts to spoil the loft of the down and it's not so warm anymore. I washed mine in the machine at home with some Nikwax Down Wash, then tumble dried it well and kept bashing it and separating all the clumps. It turned out OK, but it was a 5 year old one which I wouldn't have been too bothered about if it'd got f**ked. So I suppose on a newie that cost a bit it'll be worth the 30 quid to get it done reyt.

Cheers for info. Will try sponging it down on outside to start with as it just looks greasy. Next year it may get a trip to franklins depending on how smelly it gets this winter
